Abstract : Indigenous healing practices, deeply rooted in the cultural, spiritual, and psychological frameworks of various communities, have been central to maintaining physical and mental well-being for generations. These practices, which include shamanic rituals, plant medicine, spiritual ceremonies, and communal healing, provide unique approaches to psychological and emotional health. This paper aims to explore and compare the psychological and spiritual aspects of indigenous healing practices from various cultures, with a particular focus on their implications for modern therapeutic techniques. By examining the role of spirituality, community, and altered states of consciousness, the paper discusses how indigenous healing rituals facilitate emotional release, trauma recovery, and personal transformation. It highlights the integration of mind-body-soul approaches, where healing is not limited to the psychological or physical aspects but incorporates spiritual and communal dimensions. Furthermore, the paper explores the intersection between these traditional practices and contemporary psychological therapies such as mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-focused therapy, and transpersonal psychology. While acknowledging the differences in cultural contexts, the paper emphasizes the shared elements in these practices, such as the importance of ritual, connection to nature, and the facilitation of self-awareness and emotional regulation. Finally, the study discusses the challenges and ethical concerns in integrating indigenous healing practices into modern psychological practices, stressing the need for cultural sensitivity and respect. This comparative analysis demonstrates the potential of blending indigenous and Western healing traditions to offer a more holistic approach to mental health care.
