Abstract
This project introduces a Transportation Information Management System and Smart
Bus Attendance System aimed at enhancing the efficiency and security of student transportation.
By integrating RFID technology with Google Firebase, the system automates bus attendance,
reduces manual paperwork, and provides real-time monitoring for parents, administrators, and
transport coordinators. Each student is issued an RFID tag, which is scanned during boarding and
departure, with data instantly uploaded to Firebase for live tracking and centralized
management. The system also supports E-Pass generation, replacing traditional paper-based
passes with a secure digital alternative that streamlines transport access and prevents
unauthorized usage. This reduces administrative effort while enhancing safety and
accountability. Administrators benefit from built-in reporting tools, offering insights into
attendance patterns and transport efficiency. The shift from manual to automated tracking
minimizes human errors, improves data reliability, and ensures seamless system integration.
Overall, the solution provides a cost-effective, scalable, and user-friendly upgrade to
conventional student transport systems. It highlights how modern technologies like automation
and cloud-based services can transform transportation management in educational institutions,
creating a safer, more efficient experience for students and all stakeholders involved.
